Why Dependence Is More Than Something We Do

Consider This:
Every single one of us lives dependently.
The only question is what
—or who—we’re depending on.


Most Christians agree with the statement that we were made in God’s image. But …

Few of us comprehend what that actually means, much less know how to practically apply it in our lives.

This, folks, is an enormous problem. Not only does this lack of understanding negatively impact virtually every aspect of our faith practice, it is the source of almost every destructive thing that happens in the world.

I want to give you two things that will allow you to live as God’s image bearer—in a New Testament, “in Christ” context:

  1. A simple but foundational mindset that reframes your reality.

  2. A way to practice that mindset on a day-to-day basis.

This article (Part 1) will cover the mindset, and a follow-up article (Part 2) will walk through the daily practice.

So let’s explore the reality-framing mindset that Jesus calls us to adopt. And just so you know: It’s a mindset you’ve probably never considered before …
